Homework

Reading

Your student should read a minimum of 20 minutes a night and record this reading in his or her reader's notebook. In addition to reading 20 minutes a night, your child also has a weekly assignment to complete in his or her reader's notebook. Examples of past assignments include writing down a sentence with an unfamiliar word and marking the context clues that help the reader determine the unfamiliar word's meaning and writing down examples of similes, metaphors, and idioms.

Math

Students brought home the Bridges Home Connections book at the beginning of the year. This book is intended for optional home practice. Recommendations for practice pages related to the week's instruction go home in the "Our Week in Review" weekly newsletter on Fridays. Answer keys are available by request. If you would like an answer key to help correct your child's work at home, please send me an email at [email protected]

Holiday Packets

Students will receive additional practice packets over Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break. These packets are optional, but if completed may be returned to school for a small prize.
